Twin Cities Greenways is seeking a contractor to develop a short (2-4 minute) video to illustrate the Twin Cities Greenways concept to a general audience. This would include residents who live on a potential greenway corridor, elected officials, potential funders, city staff, engineers and planners, and others. Twin Cities Greenways is a grassroots effort promoting the construction of greenway-quality trails to better connect the Twin Cities area. Our proposal is inspired by the tremendous success of the Midtown Greenway, and incorporates a street-to-park conversion similar to Milwaukee Avenue. Our greenway design would enable the creation of linear parks that transform streets into community assets and improve access to existing parks and trails. For more detail on the basic concept, check out the “What is a Greenway?” page of the website. More info (pdf)>

Volunteer Videographers Sought for Minneapolis Indie Xpo. Minneapolis will have its first independent comics festival quite soon! The Minneapolis Indie Xpo (MIX) will take place on Saturday, August 21st at The Soap Factory from 9am-5pm and will feature work from print and web comics creators and publishers from all over the nation. We're looking for volunteer videographers to help us record our programming. We intend to share the footage on our YouTube page and include it in our online archives (which will be developed after our inaugural show takes place). If you are a comics fan eager to help out a developing local show, or just a really great person who is generous with your time and talents, we need you! In exchange for your time, we will throw freebies at you from the show -- including a free ticket to the special Scott Pilgrim screening we're planning on Thursday, August 19th at the St. Anthony Main Theatre.

Please contact Sarah Morean, co-coordinator of MIX, for more information: sarah@mplsindiexpo.com, 612-625-9777 (day), 612-618-7313 (after 5pm and weekends)

Farmers’ Legal Action Group is looking for a volunteer video producer to do a short documentary to illustrate their policy analysis and recommendation to the State of Minnesota about how it can best preserve farmland. They need a video component to their policy report to put a human face to this issue and show what farmers have to go through to continue farming. It would entail 3-10 farmer interviews, some farm footage, and would result in a 15-minute piece. Small reimbursement to cover out of pocket costs. Contact Susan Stokes at SStokes@flaginc.org.

Audition for University of Minnesota Video Project Age range: 18+, Shooting schedule: One day a week, August through November. We are holding auditions in early August for a series of short video vignettes that will be featured on an interactive website for teens. The website is part of a University of Minnesota research project to promote healthy decision-making in the context of romantic and sexual relationships (Principal Investigator, Sonya S. Brady, Ph.D.). Our goal is to portray relationship dynamics and choices about behavior (e.g., condom use) in a way that is health promoting and non-judgmental. None of the films will depict sexual activity.

We are looking for a diverse ensemble aged 18 and over to portray people in their late teens, utilizing a mixture of improv and written dialogue. This is a professional, low-budget production with high production values and devotion to authenticity. Ensemble members will be compensated for rehearsals and shoot days. Campaign Seeking Documentarian: The campaign of Tom Schrunk is looking for people who want to document/create on-line/youtube blurbs/political ads that will get people talking about this campaign. He is running for the 5th District Congressional seat. this is the seat currently held by Keith Ellison. His goal is to build a real third party with a future to help decide votes and law making now and in the future. The goal is to have an epic campaign effort with people who will follow this party into future elections and hopefully make politics in this country less biased than simply Red vs Blue. The people who are involved alone will be something so unique that the material would be worth the effort to capture. Call campaign manager John Keenan at 612 414 8233 or e-mail me at keenanphoto@hotmail.com.

Strategic Marketing & Publicity FILM Internships AND Retail Distribution Internship
I have FIVE internship opportunities located in Minneapolis for current/recent graduates: Learn what it takes to bring an Independent film to market in a non-traditional way through audience segmentation across key markets and new distribution strategies. Marketing film is about 40% - 50% of your overall budget that will occur on the back-end. You've gone to film school or created your film - did you learn how to do this necessary work in a changing film marketplace? Are you in marketing or public relations and have an interest in films? Would you like to learn more about retail and non-traditional distribution?

Would you consider the possibility that there are forces at work beyond our understanding?
Would you bend a rule to save a life?
What are you if you don't try to help?

These are themes to muddle over in the Indie Flick by Patrick Coyle, Into Temptation who’s film is building in momentum and gearing up for it’s national targeted launch.

Into Temptation is a 2009 independent drama film that tells the the story of a prostitute (Kristin Chenoweth) who confesses to a Catholic priest (Jeremy Sisto) that she plans to kill herself on her birthday. The priest attempts to find and save her, and in doing so plunges himself into a darker side of society.

The film touched on themes of temptation, sin, good and evil, redemption and celibacy, as well as the boundaries between a priest providing counsel and getting personally involved with helping parishioners.
