IFP Minnesota is proud to announce the 2010 McKnight Screenwriting and Filmmaking Fellowship recipients. They are:
Shelli Ainsworth, for her screenplay Stay Then Go
David CC Erickson, for his screenplay Bill-land
Dawn Mikkelson, for her documentary films
Daniel Schneidkraut, for his narrative and experimental films
Each of the winning Fellows receives a $25,000 cash award. The Fellows are chosen by judging panels made up of industry professionals from outside of Minnesota.
Judges for the Filmmaking Fellowship were Laura Gabbert, an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Los Angeles (NO IMPACT MAN, SUNSET STORY), Barry Jenkins, a highly acclaimed independent filmmaker from San Francisco (MEDICINE FOR MELANCHOLY), and Mike Plante, programmer for the Sundance Film Festival. The Screenwriting Fellowship final judges were veteran filmmaker and screenwriting teacher (AFI, USC) Jerome Gary, SAGIndie director and former development executive Darrien Michelle Gipson, and Michael Clark, creative executive at the New York-based production company Big Beach.

McKnight Artist Fellowships for Filmmakers and Screenwriters
IFP Minnesota and The McKnight Foundation will award four $25,000 fellowships to Minnesota filmmakers and screenwriters in 2009. The fellowships honor the professional and artistic accomplishments of Minnesota artists writing and directing for the screen. Writers are required to submit one feature-length screenplay. Directors are required to submit two work samples in feature or short length in any of the genres of narrative, documentary, experimental, or animation.
Minnesota residents who meet the criteria are strongly encouraged to apply for this outstanding program.
